Pasca terjadinya insiden penembakan di Kantor MUI Pusat yang beralamat di Jalan Proklamasi, Jakarta Pusat, pada Selasa (2/5) kemarin siang, sekira pukul 11.24 Wib,
Ketua Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) Kota Binjai, Assoc Prof Dr HM Djamil Siahaan MA, menghimbau kepada masyarakat khususnya umat muslim, untuk dapat menahan diri dan jangan mudah terprovokasi.
Hal itu ditegaskan HM Djamil saat dikonfirmasi awak media, Rabu (3/5) siang, terkait adanya insiden penembakan dengan menggunakan senjata jenis air softgun di Kantor MUI Pusat, yang teridentifikasi dilakukan oleh Mustofa, warga Lampung.
“Saya menghimbau agar jangan mudah terpancing dan hati hati adanya agenda yang tersembunyi,” ungkap HM Djamil Siahaan.
Sebagai Ketua MUI Kota Binjai, dirinya juga berharap kepada aparat penegak hukum agar dapat mengungkap tujuan dari pelaku melakukan penembakan hingga membuat 2 orang Staff Kantor MUI Pusat, menjadi terluka.
“Penegak hukum memang saat ini harus lebih ekstra untuk bekerja dan juga bersih. Tujuannya jelas, yaitu mengayomi sekaligus melindungi masyarakat,” tuturnya.
Secara khusus, dirinya pun mengajak para da’i dan ulama untuk tidak takut terhadap berbagai kemungkinan aksi teror yang ditujukan kepada para alim ulama.
Sebab dirinya menegaskan, MUI akan tetap menjadi Lembaga yang akan terus mengawal umat Islam dari tindakan pelecehan maupun diskriminasi.
“Secara kelembagaan, MUI dan seluruh ustadz harus lebih vokal menyikapi berbagai hal yang mendiskreditkan umat Islam dan agama Islam.
Begitu pun, sikap keras ini harus tetap menjaga kesantunan,” demikian ujar Assoc Prof Dr HM Djamil Siahaan MA diakhir ucapannya. (tra)
