Belakangan ini sejumlah pihak menyorot kinerja Kepala dinas Ketahanan pangan dan Peternakan Kabupaten Langkat.
Pasalnya,banyak persoalan yang muncul sejak dinas yang mengurusi pertanian dan peternakan tersebut dikomandoi Hendrik Tarigan.
Salah satunya yang sempat disoal masyarakat adalah proyek pompanisasi dikawasan Desa Lama, Kecamatan Sei Lepan,Kabupaten Langkat dimana pembangunan proyek tersebut menyedot angaran sebesar Rp.800 juta.
Sayangnya proyek yang awalnya dibangun untuk mengairi lahan persawahan masyarakat itu sama sekali tak berpungsi dan kini terlantar. Ada ratusan hektar sawah yang mengalami kekeringan bila musim kemarau melanda.
Selain itu,masalah yang kini dirasakan masyarakat petani langka dan mahalnya pupuk. Warga merasa kesulitan untuk mendapatkan pupuk.
Tidak pedulinya Kepala dinas mengatasi masalah tersebut menyebabkan masyarakat menderita kerugian panen hingga bertahun tahun.
Dan kabar teranyar yang kini menjadi pergunjingan dikalangan rekanan di Kabupaten Langkat soal dimonopolinya beberapa paket pekerjaan didinas tersebut.
Menurut sumber media ini, Proyek pengadaan langsung yang ada didinas tersebut telahpun habis dibagikan Kepala dinas. Dan Pemborongnya ia yang menentukan.
Kalau paket kerjaan sudah tidak adalagi bang,sudah habis dibagikan kadis. Memang belum ditayangkan di LPSE tapi yang punya sudah ada. ” Ujar sumber.
Tambah sumber lagi, didapati kalau ada rekanan yang diberikan kadis lebih dari satu paket proyek. Ya,begitulah bang, kondisinya”Ketus Sumber seraya mohon namanya tak dicatut diberita.
